The Limericks Fever

This was triggered by a school Limericks contest but went on to become an obsession when Aatreyee kept creating limericks all the time...often driving us up the wall.... ;)

Limerick - 1

A girl called Twitter had a dog named Butter.
Twitter and Butter fell into the gutter.
Deep in the river of slime
Poor things were covered in grime,
Butter barked, Twitter cried, "O what a disaster!"

Limerick-2

A dog called Red
went early to bed.
He loved to draw hearts
And he ate only tarts,
And he only sang songs of the dead.

Limerick-3

I have a neighbour
Who hates child labour.
She's very nice,
She gives the poor rice.
Every Sunday she does a favour.

Limerick-4

There is a school
Which is smaller than a pool.
It has a bus which is big
Which is covered in fig.
Its every student is a big fat fool.

Limerick-5

I have a recipe book
Which I hang on a hook.
I read it every night
Under the kitchen's dim light.
Every Sunday I cook, eat and again cook.

Limerick-6

I have a fudge
On which I hold a grudge.
It is yummy,
But does not fill my tummy.
So I melted it into a sludge.

Limerick-7

There is a girl called Ferry
Who loved to eat Cherry.
She made a yummy dish
Which was made of fried fish.
This made Ferry very merry.

The Colourful Flower

Once, in the colourful Rainbow Island, there grew a transparent flower. Though all other flowers were beautiful and colourful, she was neither. No animal noticed her, no child called her beautiful. She was sad.
One day she prayed to god to change her into a colourful flower.

God said to her "O, flower, you will not be able to reverse your wish, ever again, come what may. I warn you" "I dont care, I just want to be noticed, loved. God, please grant my wish" she replied. God said "So be it."
The flower was very happy to find herself pretty and colourful. The birds and insects began to sit on her pollen, suck nectar from her and bees buzzed all around her. She felt blessed and was grateful to God.

Her happy days flew by. One bright sunny day she saw a girl coming towards her. The girl came up to her, gushed at her beauty and cut off her stem.

The flower shouted "Help! God! Help!", but in vain, In a flash, the flower remembered God's warning.

The girl then put her into a basket. She took her home and placed the colourful flower in a pretty vase. Thus ended the short life of the colourful flower.
